“Are we there yet?”

This is a question we often hear asked by children on a road trip. And if we’re being honest, it’s quite an annoying one😂

But have you ever thought about how often we ask God that question?

Over this past semester (well lets be honest, my whole life) I’m constantly asking God if I’m ‘there’ yet.

Is this the major I’m ‘supposed’ to have?

Is this the career I should pursue?

Is this the man I will marry?

And more often than not this just causes unnecessary worry and stress.

It turns me into an annoying, self-centered child that’s only focused on myself and whether or not I’ve made it.

But what if it’s not about being ‘there’?

What if it’s about the journey to get there. The people you meet along the way. The experiences you have. The joy, laughter, fun and lessons all mixed together.

Cause when you really think about it, ‘there’ is Heaven and the journey is our life.

I don’t want to waste my life asking “are we there yet?”. I want to live right where He has placed me and enjoy the journey.

What about you?
